Measure a belt, not just your trousers
Trouser labels can differ from actual body circumference. A well-fitting belt measured to the hole you use most often is usually the cleaner reference.
Compare that measurement with the maker’s definition of belt size because some brands measure to the center hole while others describe total length.

How this guidance is checked
These sources support the measurement method and help check real-world variation. They are not presented as one universal brand-size table.
- Levi's Belt Size Chart — Levi's. Cross-check showing belt labels depend on the brand’s measurement convention and do not follow one universal waist-plus-offset rule.
- Men Size Guide — H&M. Cross-check for men’s EU/US clothing, chest and waist ranges, trousers, jackets, and suit-style numeric references.
